Author: What really impresses, me when I go out to Indian restaurants is always the restaurant table linens. Obviously I like the food and normally the service is good but I am always impressed by the thick, quality starched table cloths and napkins. I always think it is amazing how they always seem to have white cloths and the curry always spills on it and surely it would stain. I am sure they do not have enough discount table linens to use new every time so they must have a really good way of washing them. I think why I am so impressed is that normal restaurants just have wipe clean tables and do not bother with linen and for me things like cloth napkins give a really good impression and show that they have made an effort. Normally it is only really expensive restaurants that have table linen like this and you feel scared that you might spill something on it and spoil it whereas in the Indian places they do not care and just bundle it away when they clear the tables, whether something has been spilt or not.. I do not even have such good quality linen at home for when I am entertaining, which is another reason why I am so impressed with it.
